Product Line: KCNA and KCP

Scope: global with spend in the $25-100 million range

Recruiter says: There are two openings needing a go-getter type candidate that has some Procurement background. Initially this will be a tactical role but will progress into strategic sourcing on a global scale.


Responsible for leading North American commodity sourcing for assigned categories in support of KCNA and KCP to achieve variable cost productivity, working capital, and business financial goals. Leads the supplier selection, development, and overall supplier management processes including managing the entire contract life cycle from request for proposal (RFP) to supplier exit utilizing a structured strategic sourcing process.

Scope/Categories  Regional and/or Global annual purchases across multiple business units. Value of purchases typically would be $25 – $100M. Categories: Cores/Corestock, Shrink Film and Stretchwrap

Key Accountabilities  • Develop strategic plan to drive value for their category based on an understanding of business unit needs, the supply market, spend baseline and evolution, and benchmarking.  • Research, select, develop and maintain adequate sources of supply to ensure that the requirements of the category are met.  • Balance strategy development with the tactical execution necessary to execute cost reduction projects.  • Develop and execute strategic, global multi-year plans in co-ordination with Global Commodity Director.  • Analyze and execute various strategic sourcing levers that can be utilized to reduce Total Cost of Ownership and Total Landed Cost for the assigned commodity utilizing appropriate financial models.  • Achieve value creation targets.

 Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3 or more years of relevant experience in planning, procurement, Mill/plant, product supply, R&E or related experience
  • Conduct analysis and carry out appropriate actions based on the analysis.
  • Successfully lead a small project or initiative.
  • Presentation experience in which have successfully conveyed an idea or decision to key stakeholders.
  • Experience/ability successfully influencing diverse groups of stakeholders.
  • Experience/ability in problem solving methodology and innovative solution development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing
  • Experience participating on cross-functional teams working on strategic sourcing activities such as RFQ’s, supplier selection, supplier relationship management, and risk assessment
  • Mentor new employees
