POSITION PURPOSE:

Manage the Baby & Child Care wipes product manufacturing facility at Maumelle, Arkansas.

CUSTOMERS and CUSTOMERS EXPECTATIONS:

Key customers: end users of products; BCC Sector Management; Global Supply Chain team; regional sales management and marketing personnel; the Conway Facility; Maumelle management team; and facility employees.

SCOPE:

Incumbent reports to the Vice President of Manufacturing – North America Baby & Child Care and is responsible for all site activities at the Maumelle Facility.

The main challenge is to establish and achieve business objectives in the areas of safety, quality, customer service, cost, environmental, and community and employee relations.

The Maumelle Facility produces baby wipes in support of the Baby & Child Care Business. The Maumelle facility contains 8 converting lines used for the manufacture of baby wipes, 2 Coform manufacturing lines used to produce raw material that is converted into baby wipes and a solution mix operation used to prepare and deliver solution formulations to the converting lines.

The incumbent must coordinate activities and business strategies with the Conway Facility Manager on the topics of mutual interest and advantage. The incumbent must also work closely with the Mid-South Distribution Center operator to assure Kimberly-Clark’s positive presence in the community is maintained.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 Manage the overall production and distribution operations and expansion projects as dictated by priorities and sound business judgment and in conformance with established policies, procedures, guidelines, budgets, standards and/or specifications, to ensure achievement of all facility objectives.

 Develop and maintain high levels of quality awareness that will assure conformance to product specifications and focus on continuous improvement of manufacturing and

 

 

administrative processes. Ensure that effective methods and tools are utilized to cause an ever-improving capability of product and quality of services. Observes all applicable Quality procedures and regulations. Performs tasks utilizing Good Manufacturing Practices and Lean Principles. Demonstrates an understanding of the Facility Quality Policy and how it affects his/her job.

 Establish and a maintain an optimum facility organization, by providing an environment which allows employees to develop themselves to their maximum potential and will result in all employees considering their facility a fair and equitable place of employment. Establish and maintain an effective dialogue with the employees through frank, open and timely assessments of performance; identify skill development needs and opportunities for development activities and recognize and reinforce employee development.

 Develop and maintain high levels of safety and loss prevention awareness through development of sound safety and loss prevention programs to ensure positive employee attitudes and compliance with government regulations, corporate policies and the achievement of safety objectives.

 Develop and implement continuing cost improvement plans and programs that will ensure continuity of a competitive and profitable manufacturing facility.

 Establish and maintain high levels of housekeeping appearance, physical condition and sanitation to assure conformance to government regulations, corporate policies and standards.

 Ensure application of established financial controls within the facility by providing operating management direction and support to the implementation and maintenance of financial policies, instructions and internal control procedures.

 Communicate fully with superiors, subordinates and others who have need to know. Be informative without being obtrusive or vexatious. Communicate in a way that is timely, yet prompt; complete, yet concise; candid, yet accurate; and clear, yet responsive.

 Provide leadership to ensure the organization attracts, develops and retains the best people and fosters an environment which motivates a diverse team to fully use its capabilities in achieving desired business results.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The position requires knowledge and ability typically associated with a bachelor’s degree. Prior experience in managing a regulated manufacturing process is preferred. The incumbent must have the ability to organize and plan, delegate, lead and motivate people, and maintain effective control. The position requires broad knowledge and extensive experience in business management, including the successful management of a major line or functional department. Judgment and ability to interact effectively with governmental agencies to maintain positive community relations is required.
