Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the development and implementation of business and technical strategies and tactical execution to achieve advantaged capabilities in support of on-going business objectives and provide breakthrough thinking.
• Work with line and functional leaders to develop and implement actions that improve the capability of people and processes within the organizations served
• Stay current on external “best practices” and determine if/how these can be applied within the various businesses to drive revolutionary performance levels.
• Benchmark with external companies and industry experts to maintain expertise and transformational thinking
• Develop and maintain 5 year strategy A3 that sets the vision for Lean for Product and Process Development
• Collaborate with other Key Thinkers to see what connections might be made and changes to current roadmap (Meet Quarterly) to sustain change
• Ensure complete integration of CI methodology (tools/process understanding, thinking) into all areas of CI Deployment (Materials, Executive Coaching, Kaizen Office, Functional Support)
• Ensure capability is being built internally to the CI team and externally to CI/business resources as to sustain the long term objectives
• Coach, mentor and teach to all levels of the organization (Vertically and Horizontally)
• Work with global teams to deploy various aspects of the CI deployment model. These include activities involving Enterprise Alignment, Continuous Process Improvement and Cultural Enablers.

Essential knowledge / Experience: 

Required 
§ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with 10+ years of experience
§ Interacts with the most senior levels of the Corporation and therefore must be able to effectively communicate and influence leaders and their deputies across cultures
§ Must have a broad appreciation and command of Lean, six sigma, project management, and supply chain / operations environments
§ Must have depth in Lean for Product and Process Development and a track record of delivering Business results through this type of thinking and process

Expectations for this role include:

SCOPE OF POSITION: 
Advisor to support development of pricing and trade strategies. Provide detailed pricing analyses across brand, market and channel, and cost control evaluations. Main contact for pricing enquires from Customer Development teams.

• Leverage internal and external data sources in creation of statistical and analytic reviews of pricing strategy, revenue optimization and promotional price activities.
• Develop and communicate strategic, financial and administrative implications of proposed pricing approaches.
• Utilize insights and analytics to support Regional Sales, Innovation and Channel Management teams with executing local market pricing strategies.
• Provide oversight for trade spending and fund allocations.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Perform market research – Analyst will locate and perform analysis on market and industry data
• Keep knowledge base current with industry trends, market research and analytic tools
• Perform rigorous analysis
o Become familiar with internal category data
o Work with the buyer to develop savings hypotheses
o Develop analysis around hypotheses
o Build insight from the analysis and provide preliminary findings/recommendations to buyer
o Findings from one analysis often prompt further analysis and analyst should take the initiative to further the analysis as needed
o Develops and maintains detailed cost model for the category
o Develop and maintain data bases on current and future (forecast) internal usage and prices/costs for all items within the assigned categories.
o Identify and recommend cost savings opportunities identified by the analysis of both the internal and market data.
o Complete templates for category strategy review
o Locates data and completes templates for category strategy review according to pre-set schedule
o Communicate information to buyer – Analysts spend considerable time in the data and should communicate relevant market data and/or inconsistencies to buyer.

Position Purpose:
The Manager Strategic Sourcing Programs leads massive data analysis effort in condensed time frames for mega/global/multi-regional sourcing initiatives.  The incumbent also manages analysts and/or provides coaching and guidance to them by working on mega/global/multi-regional sourcing initiatives together.

Customers and Customer Expectations:
• Support global category leaders to execute major sourcing initiatives
• Lead analyst(s) on major sourcing project and provide day-to-day work instructions
• Serve as role model for and demonstrate thought leadership to analysts by applying best practice strategic sourcing process/tactics and excellent data analytical and presentation/communication skills
• Prepare negotiation materials in major supplier negotiations
• Proactively identify or expand major sourcing opportunities by working closely with relevant global category leaders
• Participate in weekly status meetings with other relevant parties
• Support assigned global category teams in developing project plans including deliverables, resources and milestones
• Build analysis excellence and lead by example (i.e. cost modeling and hypothesis driven scenario evaluation)

Principal Accountabilities:
1. Lead complex/massive data analysis effort of major global/multi-regional sourcing initiative with accelerated timelines
2. Negotiation preparations and follow-ups in major sourcing initiatives

 Qualifications/Education/Experience Required: 

• Bachelor’s Degree
