• Provide leadership for a technical group (eight professionals) with focus on optimization and maintenance of two $25 MM tissue machines.
• Assist in supervision of 115 people including ten crew leaders.
• Tissue Manufacturing budget: $61 MM.
• Tissue Manufacturing payroll: $6.7 MM.

POSITION PURPOSE:
Provide operational team leadership and management to attain safety, quality, productivity, housekeeping, logistics, asset management, internal control and human resource objectives for the Tissue Manufacturing Team at New Milford. The Asset Leader is responsible to understand and enforce the applicable site EHS procedures and requirements for their area.

KEY CUSTOMERS:
Mill Management, Operating Team, Maintenance Team, Staff, End Users

CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS:
Economically produced base tissue that meets customer specifications. Assets such as materials, inventories, equipment and personnel which are properly managed, maintained and developed.

SCOPE:
• The incumbent typically reports to the Product System Leader.
• The incumbent has operations responsibility for two tissue machines manufacturing facial tissue base sheet products.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

This person requires knowledge and ability typically associated with a Bachelor’s degree or at least 5 years of industrial experience. • Participate in periodic team reviews covering status versus objectives, strategies, action plans, maintenance activities and resource needs.
• Develop and/or implement department programs/procedures such as centerline projects, the Working Program, training programs, housekeeping policies, etc.
• Provide leadership to improve department housekeeping to reflect credit on the department and help promote safety and quality.

Summary of Position:
Lead Lean/Continuous Improvement (CI) deployment within KCNA Procurement to build capability, and help drive business process improvements that create value for the Procurement organization and enterprise. Develop, implement and sustain lean deployment strategies and plans, as well as Champions to build Lean capability. As a Lean Champion, lead and facilitate Lean workshops, projects and events.
Customers and Customer Expectations:
Key Customers: Procurement leadership and team members (NA and Global), Procure-to-Pay Process Council and Process Owners, One CI Team, Supply Chain Leadership, requisitioners and suppliers.

Customer Expectations: Provide expert counsel or coaching to team members in the matter of CI / Lean. This may be on an individual basis or as part of a specific problem solving, Kaizen, subject matter forum or steering commit.

Scope:
The incumbent reports to a Procurement Manager and has no direct deputies. Though the position has no direct deputies there is an indirect relationship with other LEAN Coordinators or designated points of contact throughout the supply chain, business supporting functions and/or other business units. The incumbent must be able to effectively organize and lead multifunctional teams.

The incumbent must ensure successful interface with other Lean Coordinators within Procurement and provide for seamless integration with customers as well as effective collaboration with other Kimberly-Clark organizational units engaged in LEAN. Interactions will cover a broad range and may include sector/functional leadership to line operations. He/she will coordinate periodic exchanges between team members from various sites or business unit functions to gain synergies and leverage learning’s to improve LEAN deployment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

§ Partner with the KCNA Leadership team to vision and drive transformation through strategic deployment. This individual plays a key role coordinating strategy deployment across an organization of over 100 team members that is aligned with global Finance initiatives and KCNA business priorities
§ Drive annual strategy planning and key priority selection
§ Enable a culture of accountability by designing and implementing effective visual management for priorities.
§ Assist the VP of Business Analysis and his leadership team as needed to plan strategy driving activities and engage the broader organization in initiatives.
§ Drive best practice sharing across functional areas using LEAN process improvement.

o Leader for deployment of needed LEAN knowledge including the deployment of LEAN tools, processes and mental models, i.e.; Kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping, etc.
o Support establishment and communication of the LEAN philosophy, leadership culture and needed behavior changes.
o Define tactics and methods to foster employee engagement, successful change management and acceptance.
o Facilitate workshops and/or other forums to focus improvement, transfer knowledge, and engage team members, managers and leaders in activities supporting the business process LEAN transformation.

o Surface methods to assess LEAN readiness and progress.
