DIMENSIONS:
• Provide leadership for a technical group (eight professionals) with focus on optimization and maintenance of two $25 MM tissue machines.

POSITION PURPOSE:
Provide operational team leadership and management to attain safety, quality, productivity, housekeeping, logistics, asset management, internal control and human resource objectives for the Tissue Manufacturing Team at New Milford. The Asset Leader is responsible to understand and enforce the applicable site EHS procedures and requirements for their area.

KEY CUSTOMERS:
Mill Management, Operating Team, Maintenance Team, Staff, End Users

CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS:
Economically produced base tissue that meets customer specifications. Assets such as materials, inventories, equipment and personnel which are properly managed, maintained and developed.

SCOPE:
• The incumbent typically reports to the Product System Leader.
• The incumbent has operations responsibility for two tissue machines manufacturing facial tissue base sheet products.
• The incumbent assists in establishing individual and team objectives.
• The incumbent also provides leadership and coordination of a multi-functional team assigned specific objectives or projects to improve the business unit performance.
• The main challenge of this position is to effectively lead and develop several teams, optimize the manufacturing process and provide customer service for the department.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

This person requires knowledge and ability typically associated with a Bachelor’s degree or at least 5 years of industrial experience. The incumbent must be able to effectively organize and lead multi-functional teams. He/she typically has in-depth knowledge in a single functional area and has applied that knowledge on a number of projects and/or manufacturing issues with the team. This person has a thorough understanding of several mill functional areas and their interaction.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Lead/coordinate resource support for two tissue machines. This involves leading engineering support (mechanical, electrical, process), coordinating maintenance/operator support as well as providing operations expertise.
• Develop objectives to improve paper machine operation and support the eight business objectives. These objectives should be well understood by Operations staff, Operator leadership and Maintenance leadership.
• Participate in periodic team reviews covering status versus objectives, strategies, action plans, maintenance activities and resource needs.
• Develop and/or implement department programs/procedures such as centerline projects, the Working Program, training programs, housekeeping policies, etc.
• Provide leadership to improve department housekeeping to reflect credit on the department and help promote safety and quality.
• Manage several of the Manufacturing Department administrative tasks such as payroll review, scheduling, audits, clothing inventories and raw material inventories.
• Act in a leadership role actively displaying organizational sensitivity on corporate or management decisions.
• Work within and coach less experienced team members on internal control policies and procedures.
• Communicate fully with supervisors, subordinates and others who have a need to know. Be informative, communicating in a way that is timely, complete, accurate and in a responsive manner.
• Operating their work area in full compliance with local EHS legislation and codes.
• Understanding the EHS aspects and hazards of their work area and managing them to acceptable levels of risk or impact.
• Reporting, investigating and promptly addressing substandard acts and conditions.
• Effectively implement the facility EHS Management System.

Purpose of the Role:

Provide engineering and manufacturing operations leadership to support the delivery of $500MM net sales by 2020 and $2B by 2025 at targeted costs. Ensure FDA/Global regulatory approvals, and commercial supply of the Sofusa™ combination product for multiple drug candidates.

 

Role Accountabilities:

 

  • Deliver a Continuous Supply of Sofusa™ Combination Products
  • Lead the design, engineering, purchase, installation, start-up, and validation of all required manufacturing equipment with external CMOs.
  • Lead all operation responsibilities of the Sofusa™ supply chain including costs, quality, inventory, working capital, and safety.

Qualifications:

Key Accountabilities:
Build Talent of direct deputies (8), Product Supply engineers, and co-own  technical talent development programs with staff R&E; manage performance  and career development of deputies
• Provide strategic leadership for Family Care’s capital budget and Product  Supply Regenerate and Improve (R&I) engineering resources; activating the  technical portfolio to deliver Strategic Business Plans (SBP) and Annual  Business Plans (ABP) priorities
Lead the Breakthrough OEE pillar that drives the “wildly important goals” aka  WIGs. This is a multi-year strategic plan that drives transformational  improvement (10-20 % +) for realized capacity results. It includes development  of technical solutions and allocation of resources for the sector.
• Annually, lead the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) process to drive  realized capacity and capability improvements; execute the 5-year mass  balance gap analysis business process and deploy OEE annual business  imperatives across staff and mills.
• Lead the Product Supply reliability program, coordinating and integrating  reliability strategies across the Family Care mills and staff R&E to deliver  against annual business imperatives.

Position Summary:
The Electrical Engineer for this role will initiate, design, develop and optimize manufacturing and supporting processes. You should have expertise on high speed packaging equipment, drives, controls, Rockwell Motion Control, and a demonstrated ability to effectively provide specific project work direction to a broad range of team members. The incumbent reports to an Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities:
• Carries out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop and deliver equipment and processes that meet safety requirements, policies and guidelines. Provides for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance and other personnel.
• Leads single or multiple product or process improvement projects with a financial scope of up to $10 million from conception through commercialization and can support larger projects as a member of the project team. Lead Project Management from inception with specifying, selecting, procuring, installing, engineering check-outs and starting-up associated machinery. Receives direction from Engineering Manager or Senior Engineers in the form of specific objectives.
• Provides functional leadership and creativity in the initiation of design, development and optimization of base sheet manufacturing and converting processes to meet unit objectives.
• Develops knowledge and skills to be recognized for expertise and functional leadership in application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, problem solving and project management while providing advice and counsel to others.
• Seeks, recognizes, defines and solves complex technical issues to root cause.
• Participates in the development of others within the area of the incumbent’s expertise, including the creation of knowledge transfer documentation materials.

Qualifications:
• Requires a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited College or University.
• Needs a minimum of 8 years engineering experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments in a high-speed consumer product manufacturing and/or staff environment.
• Should be able to demonstrate an ability to perform in cross-functional teams to achieve objectives within required timeframes.
• Experience with manufacturing control systems, such as: PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers); variable speed drives; HMI (Human Machine Interfaces) distributed control systems; instrumentation; power distribution.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with the following manufacturing control systems: Allen Bradley and/or Rockwell Automation PLC’s, and safety PLC’s; VS drives and servo drives; Honeywell TDC; Factory Talk SE/ME Allen Bradley HMI; instrumentation, Ethernet I/P networks, power distribution.
• In depth technical knowledge and expertise in tissue and/or towel converting and/or manufacturing.
• Up to 12 years of mill manufacturing and staff support or capital project assignments, including maintenance and asset support.
• Experience working with external technical service providers.
• Familiarity with high-speed manufacturing equipment machine startups.

Excellent project management, LEAN systems and relationship management skills are highly valued. We use innovative thinking and analysis to deliver results to the businesses we support.

The primary responsibilities for the role include purchasing assigned materials, equipment and services to meet the business needs; managing assigned commodities and purchases; and managing relationships with key suppliers and internal customers. A structured strategic sourcing process is used to manage the entire contract life cycle from Request for Proposal to supplier exit.

Utilizing this structured strategic sourcing process you will:
• Work with internal customers to develop sourcing strategies for specific purchases of categories which will best meet business needs at the lowest total cost of ownership.
• Identify, evaluate and select suppliers that meet the internal customer needs.
• Solicit, evaluate, negotiate and award contracts for specific purchases (technical, commercial and/or commercial aspects) as well as administer contracts as required.
• Analyze Supply Base, reduce Risk, and optimize the Total Cost.
• Lead or co-lead initiatives to eliminate waste and variability in the supply chain including planning, managing and implementing major projects in a repeatable process to realize results.

Scope:

The incumbent reports to the Product System Leader. The incumbent provides broad leadership in achieving team objectives for the TM5 asset that produces the DRC base sheet. The incumbent also provides leadership for department-wide project assignments, direction and coaching for operators and indirect leadership for other functional areas that support the operation of the tissue machine asset.
