The Procurement Consultant reports to the Strategic Procurement Manager and is responsible to manage assigned commodities, suppliers, and purchases to meet customer needs.   Utilizing a structured sourcing process, the Procurement Consultant handles high dollar category sourcing and contract negotiations. The Procurement Consultant provides technical direction, advice, and counsel on a wide array of procurement issues, bringing broad depth and breadth of experience to handle buying in complex and/or rapidly changing marketplaces. Seeks opportunities for vertical integration, strategic partnerships to enable growth and ensure continuity of business.

 

Customers:

Broad base of customers could include: Global Procurement, Business Management, Finance, A/P, Receiving, ITS, Distribution, Operations, R&E, Internal Control, Marketing, Planning, Engineering, or other personnel involved in the implementation of business strategies where sourcing plays a role.

 

Principal Accountabilities: 

  • Develops thorough category strategies to drive value for their categories based on an understanding of business unit needs, the supply market, spend baseline, evolution and benchmarking.   Effectively document, communicate and gain buy-in for the strategies.
  • Research, select, develop and maintain adequate sources of supply to ensure that the requirements of the categories are met with the optimum quality, service and cost to use.
  • Ability to successfully reach business objectives through supplier negotiations. Analyzes market and supply dynamics related to supplier proposals to develop a matrix of negotiation scenarios.  Engages business leaders to align on acceptable negotiation outcomes.  Develops a negotiation trade plan, counterarguments, opening positions, and plan for executing negotiations.
  • Leads the development of risk analyses, assessments and mitigation plans for categories of spend.  Manage supplier network for assigned commodities to provide sufficient materials and services to meet highest short-range requirements, protect against temporary supply interruptions and provide for long-range growth needs. Develop and execute a plan to quickly and effectively manage any supply interruptions.
  • Interacts with business units to develop, engage and lead supplier relationships for extracting the greatest value in cost, security of supply, risk management, sustainability and innovation. Manage the ongoing performance of our suppliers including objective setting and supplier evaluations where warranted.
  • Comprehend and provide constructive input on legal contract documents related to purchasing terms, conditions, indemnification, intellectual property ownership, etc.
  • Knowledgeable about the markets and how they affect price, availability, or supply chain logistics. Will use specific market analysis to predict behavior and supply risks to the organization. Will adjust strategies to minimize effect of market change. May provide market analysis to customers and advice to others within procurement.
  • Forecast timely price and availability information on assigned commodities for the various consuming businesses and communicate this information to appropriate personnel in the company so it is properly integrated into business strategy and decision-making.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of corporate policies and procedures, as well as related governmental laws and regulations to ensure purchasing activities are conducted within the parameters of each.
  • Contribute to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions to achieve desired business results.

The leader of the Global FP&A team provides the strategic global direction for all Financial Planning and Business Analysis at Halyard Health.

Serves as a senior financial advisor to the Halyard leadership team and leads the Global Business Analysis Function.  This is the top financial analysis position with responsibility for analyzing and evaluating alternate global financial plans as they relate to the organization’s objectives. Integral member of the leadership team responsible for providing Halyard leadership and key individuals with timely financial and operational analysis to facilitate and influence sound business decisions including strategy development, business planning, financial forecasting, product and promotion analysis and capital planning. Responsible for building and developing a high potential, global financial planning and analysis staff.

 

  • Partner in a proactive manner with the business teams to develop and execute strategic business plans to achieve desired financial objectives (Net Sales, Operating Profit, Gross Margin, working capital) and identify/manage risks to the plans to close performance gaps as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Education:

MBA or equivalent advanced degree  Experience:

  • More than 15 years of experience, and greater than half in a multinational/global business, with several years of experience in a leadership position in a complex, progressive, global planning and analysis environment along with a strong track record of personal achievement and advancement.
  • Minimum of 5 years in finance leadership role developing high-performing talent and directing high-performing team(s).
  • International experience is a requirement and an “in-market” experience is preferred

Summary:

The incumbent will report to the Manager of Advanced Process Development R&D responsible for the medical devices business.   • Conferring with vendors in determining product specifications and arranging equipment, parts, or material purchase, and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications.
  • Estimating staffing requirements, production times, and relative costs to provide data for operational decisions.
  • Working closely with the local manufacturing department to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees.
  • Creating and maintaining accurate documentation of tool drawings, design concepts, shop orders, and concepts in accordance with the R&E and quality assurance functions.
  • Supporting company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, FDA regulations, and goods manufacturing practices.
  • Research and purchase new manufacturing technology, work in collaboration with the local engineering department to better production equipment functionality.
  • Implement the transition of new technology to make sure production continues successfully without any delays.
  • Act as a mentor to junior engineers within the Process Development Group.

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or advanced degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

The Director of Advanced Research & Technology Development, reporting to the Vice President of Global R&D, will lead two functions that are critical to accelerating growth for the $1.7 Billion Dollar Halyard Health organization. The first function is a newly organized pain management technology center of excellence. This center of excellence is chartered to identify, develop and license new and innovative technology in the areas of acute and chronic pain that can be applied to future product development projects. • Drive the development and establishment of advanced research & technology development processes, practices and SOP’s.
• Plan, coordinate and track advanced research projects performed using both internal and external R&D resources. Manage lead researchers that are driving these projects. Manage the scoping, assessment and investigation of technologies and their transition into Product Development projects
• Stay abreast of up-and-coming technology by building key relationships with industry thought leaders, universities and inventors to deliver technology and clinical solutions that will feed new product development and shape Halyard’s future.

• Ensure proprietary technology and intellectual property protection for developed technology.
• Develop & maintain technology development roadmaps and strategic plans. Working collaboratively with business and R&D partners, link those plans to overall product development roadmaps. Stay informed on and monitor technology trends.
• Identify and assess early stage technologies that may be available for licensing or further development especially in the field of pain management.
• Lead an organization focused on providing technology scouting capabilities to the Halyard organization that can be leveraged to support inorganic activity in adjacent business areas as well as support the needs of the existing business units.
• Drive the idea management process here at Halyard. Work in concert with Intellectual Property counsel to help manage the intellectual asset review process.
