Scope- Front End Innovation and Pilot facilities

Global Nonwovens (GNW) has an opening for an R&E Director to provide leadership, strategic direction and delivery of high value technical and material solutions to support K-C’s business strategies, innovation & growth plans, and cost transformation. This R&E Director role has responsibility for the Front End Innovation (FEI) portfolio in addition to the pilot facilities which provides nonwoven prototyping services to all of K-C. This role also provides leadership to key GNW subject matter experts in support of sector innovation and cost transformation goals. This position will interface with colleagues across GNW as well as global partners in KCNA, KCI, KCP, and CR&E and external partners in academia, government, industry and non-government organizations (NGOs). It is expected that the candidate will have relevant experience in nonwovens process and materials development.

Role Purpose/Scope

Provide leadership and strategic vision to develop and maintain a healthy FEI portfolio resulting in delivery of high value technical and material solution options to the BU IMF Teams, driving operational efficiency and new technologies in the pilot facilities to safely provide prototyping capabilities to all customers, and develop/coach both technical and management leadership to deliver a sustainable pipeline of talent for the future.

Primary Responsibilities

Innovation

  • Develop a healthy FEI pipeline working in partnership with GNW leadership and BU stakeholders to provide:
    • A portfolio that is aligned with BU innovation needs
    • Delivery of high value technical and material solution options to the BU IMF portfolios
    • FEI portfolio visibility to GNW, CR&E and BU’s Senior Leadership
  • Establish and grow connections across the BU R&E teams to provide clear direction on current innovation needs and longer term disruptive innovation opportunities
  • Ensure pilot facility provides a safe environment for customers and drive strategy for near/longer term innovation capabilities

Customer Confidence

  • Ensure the FEI portfolio is connected to the BU stated consumer needs and clearly indicates the benefits with key milestones including timing and cost
  • Establish a network across the BU’s, GNW, CR&E, Legal, and procurement
  • Establish a pipeline of projects that anticipate BU unmet needs

Supply Chain

  • Work with GNW and BU’s to ensure there is a portfolio of projects to deliver sustainable competitive advantage across the GNW asset base
  • Drive collaboration with the regions and GPO to understand global innovation capabilities

Organizational Capability

  • Lead by example in Safety and LEAN/Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure that all elements of the Corporate Human Resources Development and Diversity policy are fully implemented

Principal Accountabilities:

Qualifications/Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in a science or engineering discipline with advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive and broad managerial experience in R&E, manufacturing or other technical function with demonstrated results.  Prefer a candidate with converting experience.
  • Experience should include close working relationships with the business, Marketing, Product Supply and Sourcing and Supply Management functions.

Summary of Position

Leads a group of category directors responsible for direct material sourcing at Kimberly-Clark.  Ensures that Kimberly-Clark’s total volume, spend and supplier relationships are leveraged across platforms and integrated for product and service optimization in accordance with business strategy. Actively participates as an enterprise leader on the Global Procurement Leadership Team including leading strategic initiatives across all business units and procurement teams. Role Accountabilities:

  • Lead the team to optimally manage the total external spend of direct material sourcing for Kimberly-Clark
  • Key interface with Regional/BU Procurement Leader to understand and deliver business requirements

Basic Qualifications

The IT Network Security Senior Manager works with the ITS Enterprise Services Director in the development, delivery and oversight of an information security program that includes the establishment and maintaining of standards, procedures and guidelines to protect the Company’s information assets stored on information systems and technologies including at vendor partner facilities. This role includes, but is not limited to the identification and remediation of potential or known exposures (accidental or intentional), that may cause serious financial and/or information loss, as well as establishing policy on the administration of systems and information ownership.

The Senior Manager establishes and maintains working relationships with other noncompetitive companies to ensure that the Corporation maximizes its investment in IT infrastructure and security services. In addition, the position directs the external business partners to drive down unit cost and total cost of ownership while providing service assurance that meets or exceeds service level expectations.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manage global IT Security staff of 9 people
  • Responsible for managing the annual Security operating budget
  • Manage the information security function in accordance with the established policies and guidelines while balancing the appropriate levels of risk in support of the business objectives
  • Interact with Business Leadership to ensure that the Information Security Program addresses Business needs for protection and compliance with legislation
  • Conduct information security risk assessments for applications and 3rd party vendors
  • Act as meeting facilitator for the Information Security Cyber Risk Committee
  • Advises and influences global business clients and customers, at management level, regarding the delivery, costs, availability and functionality of security components
  • Provides technical security direction related to the strategic direction of Kimberly-Clark’s corporate infrastructure
  • Create appropriate measures and metrics related to the development and management of our security infrastructure and regularly communicate them to the Infrastructure leadership team
  • Provides coaching, consulting, and training opportunities to create and maintain talent within the security organization
  • Provides direct supervision and guidance to security staff.
  • Recruits, hires, orients, trains and evaluates security staff.
  • Ensures overall security operations are conducted in accordance with established policies, procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university

· 10-15 years of work experience in similar position or having equivalent kind of skills experience

· 5+ years of work experience in information security

· 3+ years of work experience in leading an Information Security team

· Substantial knowledge of cyber security threats and risk mitigation strategies

· Experience implementing Payment Card Information Data Security Standards

· Demonstrated effectiveness in collaborating with business partners on security needs

· Strong analytic and problem solving skills; sound judgment

· Experience with security measures and metrics

· Ability to communicate information about the vision and direction of our information security program to senior leadership

· Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with global cultures and times zones

· Ability to visualize, plan, and execute process improvement to increase departmental efficiency

· Communication skills including the ability to translate security concepts into business language

Preferred Qualifications:

· Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
