Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree. SPHR certification or Advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 5-7 years of progressive HR leadership experience with strong HR generalist background and deep knowledge of HR systems and processes
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Experience working in highly matrixed organizations
  • Demonstrated success leading organizational change and influencing and coaching at the executive level
  • Strong business acumen with a demonstrated ability to develop and align HR initiatives to accelerate achievement of strategic business objectives
  • Strong understanding of industry HR best practices
  • A track record of success in developing team leaders and teams.

Position Purpose:

This position provides leadership and takes overall functional responsibility for a broad range of human resource activities and initiatives for the Beech Island Manufacturing Facility to support the safe, effective and efficient manufacture of a broad array of Kimberly-Clark products. Supports line management in attracting, developing, motivating and retaining the best people while building functional HR capability to support current and future enterprise HR needs.

Customers: Key customers include mill and sector management and all employees. The incumbent works closely with the Family Care (FC) Plant Manager and is a member of the BIL FC Leadership Team, providing advice and counsel in the areas of employee relations, organizational effectiveness and talent building. As the senior HR Leader for the facility, this role also serves as a primary mentor and advisor to the junior HR Team Members. This role also provides oversight to the Contract Security Team.

Leads the development and coordination of HR systems/programs and services that are timely and responsive to identified needs. – Be a coach and mentor to less experienced BIL HR Team members.

Qualifications/Education/Experience Requirements:

To be successful, the incumbent must possess credibility with both internal and external customers based on the incumbent’s in-depth knowledge of general business practices and human resource services, plus a working knowledge of human resources and training applications from outside resources. Incumbent must have the ability to organize and plan, delegate, lead, encourage and motivate people and maintain effective control.

At least 10 years of business and functional experience is typically required at this level with at least 5 of those years spent at the manager level within a manufacturing environment. Educational requirements include a bachelor’s degree in an area relating to this position with a Master’s degree preferred. Fortune 500 experience and SPHR certification is desired.

POSITION PURPOSE:

The HR Team Leader will provide site leadership in creating a high performance culture that emphasizes employee engagement, quality, safety and effective continuous improvement implementation to drive a highly productive workforce. In addition, this role will have lead responsibility for labor relations management as well as other high performance initiatives to deliver transformation and ongoing continuous improvement to our work practices and team leader leadership capabilities. The HR Team Leader will build on and apply their expertise in various areas including performance management, labor relations, lean manufacturing, organizational development, training and development of leaders and project management to enhance cross-sector effectiveness.

CUSTOMERS AND CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS:

Customers are site leaders, site team leaders, United Steelworkers of America, and both hourly and salary employees. Customer requirements include developing and maintaining a positive progressive labor relations atmosphere in the Neenah Site, now, and as we further evolve to high performance work systems. Assure that sound labor relations policies and practices are in effect and consistent with corporate and site direction and state and federal labor laws

Scope:

Reports to the Senior HR Manager for KCNA – Adult & Feminine Care. Counsels team leaders and all levels of the organization on the administration and interpretation of the labor agreement, site High Performance Work System evolution, and grievance resolution including arbitration. Provides advice and counsel on all corrective actions. Serves as the first point of contact on all outside legal issues (including NLRB activity). In addition, this role will take ownership of key change initiatives to continue the journey in the High Performance Culture and be highly engaged in the day to day transformation of Neenah Cold Spring.

Dimensions:

Direct deputies include: 2 Exempt Resource & 2 Non-Exempt Resources Servicing 450 hourly and 65 salaried employees and 65 contingent

Principal Accountabilities: • Create an environment in which everyone regards health and safety as a personal accountability.

  • HR Business Partner providing subject matter expertise to site leadership ensuring alignment with business processes, company programs, and policies.
  • Lead site efforts around high performance work systems to obtain competitive agreements which promote continuing effective operations.
  • Lead Labor Relations on the entire Neenah campus in a way that achieves corporate and site objectives through the communication, implementation and promotion of World Class Manufacturing values, vision, mission and foundations.
  • Actively participate as a member of the negotiations team in handling labor negotiations to include preparation, bargaining and follow-up.
  • Manage the compliance work associated with NLRB activities and all civil actions against the site.
  • Actively engage with all levels of Company and Union Leadership to ensure compliance with the labor agreement and legal and ethical conformance to state and federal laws.
  • Develop, implement and manage programs that ensure a favorable employee/labor relations climate sufficient to cause employees to consider the company/plant as a fair and equitable place of employment.
  • Provide overall site direction for the ADA, FMLA and Restricted Work Programs.
  • Support broad range of Local and Corporate strategic HR initiatives to progress HR function within the site.
  • Actively manage mill training programs which serve to improve technical problem solving, leadership and organizational skills.
